Not gonna be funny for another 4.3 years

It has only been 18 years since 9/11. It’s still not funny yet. And it’s not just the 3,000+ deaths and the destruction of two skyscrapers in New York. The metric I remember from an episode of South Park is that something tragic doesn’t become funny for 22.3 years. At the end of that episode, AIDS was finally declared funny as that somewhat arbitrary period of time had supposedly passed since the beginning of the epidemic. Maybe whoever did this (hint: it was a broke loser with an Android) should check back end of 2023. I can’t guarantee you anyone would find it funny (case in point: the Holocaust ended over 70 years ago but still nobody is laughing about it because SIX MILLION PEOPLE died) but at least it would pass the South Park test.
