A school fight in South Africa nearly turned tragic when a teenage girl was pushed into moving traffic by schoolmates who accused her of gossiping about them. The 15-year-old Grade 9 pupil, who can’t be identified, was thrown in front of a moving car when the five girls attacked her outside a high school in Allens Nek, west of Johannesburg. The girl’s uncle said that last Friday, five girls waited for his niece outside the school premises because she had allegedly “leaked” information about one of their boyfriends. “The girls attacked her and then threw her into oncoming traffic in the street. She was lucky she was able to get out of the way before being hit by a car. But the worst is, it turns out the group attacked the wrong girl. She wasn’t even involved in the issues they were fighting about,” the uncle said. Before throwing her into the traffic, the five girls, aged between 15 and 17, swore at her, then slapped, kicked, and punched her in front of a large crowd of other pupils. They also allegedly assaulted her with shoes. This is not called for, be it in South Africa or a more developed nation. Students getting into fights over things like that is just stupid.
