This bus stop is in Curitiba, which is a city in southern Brazil. These cool looking bus stops have gained their reputation as a symbol of Curitiba – the heaven of urban design in Brazil. The bus stop is designed like a subway station where commuters pay at the entrance so that they can walk directly on the bus. The good points about paying at the bus stop are that there is only one price no matter how far you go (good for those living in the furthest reaches of the bus network), and there's less chance of somebody fare-dodging, especially if tickets are checked again on board.
